It can get depressing to read news stories or articles. People who are sound, intelligent, well-educated, and well-researched can have silly and absurd thoughts. People who otherwise might be very nice and mild can be aggressively fixated on issues to an amazing degree. Reasonableness seems to have very little correlation with any other factor. And I expect that all those people are sincere, so I could very well be just as silly and absurd.

Thoguht is depressing. :(

I feel the same way. It might be one of the reasons I feel most comfortable from a neutral position.
