And install it. I hope you guys know how to install it if you're on Windows. If not, I'll eventually make a guide for it. Ubuntu 7.10 users, Pidgin is already pre-installed.
This guide is done on Ubuntu 7.10 but I'm 99.999999999999% sure it's the same process on Windows.
Anyway, open it up after you're done with it.
You should see this window:
Go to Accounts -> Add/Edit like here:
Now click on the +Add button as shown here:
Click on the dropdown box that says 'AIM' and select 'IRC'.
Fill in your desired username. I used 'zantherus'.
Type in niven.freenode.net as the server to connect to.
Type in a password:
Hit save.
If you're not logged on, go to Accounts -> Add/Edit. Then tick the checkmark next to the IRC username. A window will pop up:
You may have to register your screen name (I'm not 100% about this) so if you need to, see this link here: http://freenode.net/...tml#registering
I could help you set up your account too.
Go to Buddies -> Join a Chat.
Make sure your IRC username is selected. Type in the channel box: #zantherus.
Hit Join. Then the chatroom will appear.
Congrats! You're now on IRC!
