Setting it up
You'll have to download UXtheme.dll (Unlocked Version). You can find the download at the bottom of this topic, just unzip it and run "UXTheme Multi Patcher.exe".

-UXtheme Patcher created by WindowsX

Installing Themes/Visual Styles
How to install manually:

1.Find a nice theme/visual style you would like to use. Some themes can be found here:
http://www.deviantart.com
http://www.themexp.org

2. Extract the downloaded content
There is usually a ".msstyles" file in there somewhere.

3. Go to C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Themes
4. Create a new folder in there, with the same name as the visual style name. (EX: tutorial.msstyles = folder name: tutorial)
5. Put the ".msstyles" file in the folder you just made.
6. To apply your theme, right click your desktop > Properties > Appearance > Under the Windows and Buttons drop down should be your theme. Choose your theme and click apply.

Automatic Install:
Well, some themes comes in packs and in the packs there may be an automatic installer. Just run that :P and apply the theme.

Downloads:
UXThemePatcher.zip
LongHorn Visual Styles Pack

WindowsX - UXThemePatcher and LongHorn Visual Styles Pack

That's it for now, there are more ways of customizing your windows, which I may add to this tutorial later on.

Interesting! Sounds pretty cool.

Sometimes I feel so sick at the state of the world I can’t even finish my second apple pie.

I used to do this to my computer, and made my XP look like Vista. Now I am using GuiStyle found form DeviantArt. That's basically it, good tutorial. There are many great themes at DeviantArt, but look for ones that are msstyle not WindowsBlinds because WindowsBlinds ones require WindowsBlinds, and they make your computer really slow. Codename Longhorn is a great skin, I have it. If you want the skin I am using, search GuiStyle on DeviantArt. Thanks for sharing this tutorial! It's cool.
