Just like the Yu-Gi-Oh thread, Magic gets its own thread here :)

Eh not a lot of Magic players here but there are bound to be some so might as well.

Anyway let's kick things off with a small questionaire:

How long have you been playing?
How well would you say that you know the rules of the game?
What is your favorite color?
What deck do you currently play? Is it competitive or casual?
Favorite card?
Best plays that you've made in a game?

Also if you wish to learn how to play Magic just ask away.

EDIT: If you guys wish to link to the cards, put the card name in {mtg} tags. It will link to magiccards.info database for the card that you want. You have to put the exact name of the card though, so putting "Tim" in {mtg} tags won't bring up "Prodigal Sorcerer" for you.

Replace the {} with [], IPB won't let me post with the correct bracket (BBcode error, it tells me).

My main deck is a competitive Red Sligh with the traditional Lightning Bolt/Incinerate/Mogg Fanatic/Slith Firewalker base and a little bit of different cards mixed in (Isochron Scepter which I think is a little too slow and Browbeat).

Sometimes I feel so sick at the state of the world I can’t even finish my second apple pie.

Yeah I've noticed (at least against me) the 'scepter hasn't really done much except be just threat. It's good in the long run though but our games tend to be short so don't change it out just yet.

Although if you are going to replace anything for the 'scepter, exchange it for the Figure of Destiny.

How long have you been playing?

I'm not sure. Up to six years I think. I haven't played in a month though.
How well would you say that you know the rules of the game?
I know all the basic rules of the game, and abilities and things, but might get confused when things get complicated.
What is your favorite color?
Red is fun.
What deck do you currently play? Is it competitive or casual?
A red green deck with bloodthirst, elves, and stuff.
Favorite card?
I can't decide.
Best plays that you've made in a game?
I've made some interesting plays. Nothing completely awesome though. I like when I have a bunch of elves in play, including timberwatch elf and taunting elf. Tiberwatch + taunting can clear the way for my bloodthristy creature or I can leave it open to defend Wellwisher.

Ziveeman and I went to Amazing Discoveries on Saturday because we felt like it and it was actually really cool, although they only have Type 2 (newer cards) tournaments, so our decks aren't legal.

But Red Phazon, you should come with us sometime to Amazing Discoveries. They have drafts on Sundays which cost like $25 but you get to open up six booster packs to make decks. We've done it before and you can just go rare grabbing and grab the cards that you think are cool for your deck.

Either that, or you come over back to my house and we can rebuild your deck and make it even better :P

I want to get a bunch of new cards though, like a booster box or something of the new set. Grr.

Meh I need to make some adjustments to my Aluren deck.

I could probably replace my 1 Impulse and 1 Diabolic Intent with Brainstorm to up the count to 4. The Impulse and Diabolic Intent are sort of random, anyway.

I never really played, but I had (and probably still have) around 900 cards.

What really pisses me off is that I lost my favorite card a few years ago. Sabertooth Nishoba, Invasion rare. It's the only card I ever lost. I used to look at it all the time and one day I realized it was gone :(

I've played it for six years and although my interest has waned every so often, playing the same deck is still a lot of fun to do. Plus when you have like 2,000 or more cards, you can build a ton of different decks. But yes, it is a lot of fun. It's extremely challenging especially when you start to get good because then you see more possibilities in your deck. I am still learning new strategies to use with my deck even though I've had the same deck for three years.

It's similar but you'll find more similarities with VS. System or World of Warcraft TCG.

Magic: the Gathering was the first trading card game in existance, btw.

I'd want to make a new deck, kind of, but I don't know enough cards to put one together, and what different deck types are.

I haven't heard of Magic Workstation. I will search for it. Is it free? Well I'll find out.
